The Page & Pen Festival at the Oviedo Mall in Florida was a wonderful success! I sold the most paperback books at a single book signing event to date in my author journey. One customer bought all five of my books, then the very next customer bought the entire A Snowflake Christmas series. I was over the moon. A truly heartwarming moment capped off the day. An elementary school-aged girl appreciated the way I interacted with her and her family. She ‘ducked me.’ Schools are promoting kindness by allowing the students to give ‘Lucky Ducks’ or Kindness Squad’ trinkets. My adorable green duck now has a place of prominence on my writing desk.

The Daytona Beach Regional Library invited Vickey to participate in a local author discussion panel on November 19, 2024 to talk about her books, how she got published, and give advice to aspiring writers. She was delighted to meet local authors Derek Catron, Barry KuKes, and Brian L. Polk. Together, they had a great time sharing their experiences in the writing and publishing business with the audience.

The New Smyrna Beach Regional Library invited Vickey to present a short lesson on Using Time Management to Nurture Creativity on November 15, 2024. She enjoyed meeting the library staff and speaking with all the attendees.

Vickey’s cover for Lainey Shea’s Treasure Quest – The Silver Beaver Tokens was a finalist in the First Coast Romance Writers inaugural book cover art contest called the National Excellence in Romance Covers Contest or NERCC. She would like to thank all of her supporters for voting for her, and her sister Tamra@inventivevisions.com for creating this wonderful piece of art.

Vickey enjoyed spending time with the First Coast Romance Writers as well as meeting her fans at the Jax Book Fest in Jacksonville, FL! She’s looking forward to next year’s event!

The First Coast Romance Writer’s Retreat on Sep 14, 2024, allowed the attendees to isolate themselves and focus on writing, but more in a networking and sharing information type of way than focusing on the opportunity to write itself. A whole lot of learning, comradery, and fun occurred!

Vickey was chosen to participate in FCRW’s Ask an Author Anything Panel in Jacksonville, FL to help new authors navigate the writing and publishing process. We had a great time sharing our knowledge with up and coming authors!
